Just a day after news broke that Margot Robbie had been the catalyst for a Harley Quinn spin-off project, Deadline has confirmed the 25-year-old Australian actress is in what we’re hearing is negotiations to appear in Simon Curtis’ Goodbye Christopher Robin. That project, set up at Fox Searchlight, charts the relationship between A.A. Milne and his son, which led to the creation of Winnie the Pooh, named after Milne’s son Robin’s teddy bear. Robin, who initially had a difficult relationship with his father, also served as the inspiration for the character Christopher Robin. The real Robin’s toys also lent their names to other Winnie the Pooh characters such as Tigger, Eyeore and Piglet.

If the deal completes, Robbie would join Domhnall Gleeson in the film. Brit producer Damian Jones is producing along with former Pinewood Pictures head Steve Christian. Pathe developed the project, which will go through Jones’ first-look production pact with Fox Searchlight, news of which Deadline broke a few weeks ago. Robbie will be seen this summer as Harley Quinn in WB’s Suicide Squad, as well as The Legend Of Tarzan. She’s also co-producing Vaughn Stein’s noir thriller Terminal alongside Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara, Sophia Kerr under their production company LuckyChap Entertainment, and is attached to star in and co-produce I, Tonya, about disgraced ice skater Tonya Harding. She’s repped by CAA, Management 360, and Aran Michael Management.

Suicide Squad doesn’t open until Aug. 5, but Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn has already landed her own spin-off.

EW has confirmed that DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. are considering a spin-off movie featuring Robbie’s baseball bat-wielding villain — to be produced by Robbie herself.

Plot and character details are being kept tightly under wraps, but the untitled spin-off wouldn’t focus on Quinn alone. Instead, Robbie would star alongside multiple female DC villains and heroes. Warner Bros. declined to comment.

According to a source, it was Robbie who actually launched the project. After working on David Ayer’s upcoming Suicide Squad movie, the actress became fascinated by DC Comics’ pantheon of female characters, recruiting a female writer to help develop the project for Warner Bros.

Robbie stars in Suicide Squad alongside Cara Delevingne (Enchantress), Jared Leto (The Joker), Will Smith (Deadshot), Jai Courney (Captain Boomerang), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc), and Karen Fukuhara (Katana). She also stars opposite Alexander Skarsgard in this summer’s Legend of Tarzan.
